Dhanteras is a main part of Diwali, festival of lights it is a
biggest festival in Hindu religion people always try to make this day as
special as they can. In a spiritual way Dhanteras itself signifies dhan i.e. money, gold etc. Lord Dhanvantari was born
on the day of Dhantrayodashi and that is why this day is worshiped as
Dhanteres. People celebrate this festival with great pomp. Today, shopping of jewellery
and utensils is done. Dhanteras is celebrated differently in different parts of
India. In most places, lighting lamps in the evening and decorating the gates,
courtyards, shops etc. From this day all the places like temples, gaushala,
river ghats, wells, ponds and gardens are lit up.
